    Essential Earth

An Earth Day celebration of musical tribute to our life-sustaining planet.

Milhaud’s La Création du monde paints a vibrant, jazzy picture of the world’s genesis, and features live performance by Ballet Quad Cities. Richard Scofano, Argentinian composer and performer, joins to perform his La Tierra Sin Mal, exploring an indigenous myth of a world without evil in a blend of classical and folk styles. The program culminates in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, the ‘Pastoral’, a sublime depiction of nature’s beauty and tranquility.
