What better way to start each month, than an evening of jazz at the Opus Concert Café. Offering an eclectic mix of the Corridor’s best jazz soloists and ensembles, each month features a new musical talent and their tribute to the genre that has defied the eras.

June features “Tommy Doggett”

A staple of the Des Moines music scene across genres, Tommy Doggett has added his saxophone to folk, funk, jazz, + rock. With his new project, Lines + Lineage, Tommy steps up front as a bandleader + composer. Blending jazz chops with rock energy, Tommy has created instrumental music to describe the influence his family had on him as a child. An Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee + ASCAPlus Award recipient, Tommy has worked with a number of Iowa artists including Corey Taylor, M. Shawn Crahan, Courtney Krause, English, Run Wilson, Freestyle, One Nite Stand, Cleo’s Apartment, + the Monday Night Live House Band.

2 Hours of Jazz from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.

For only a $15 cover charge, guests can enjoy an evening of hot jazz in the coolest venue in town. Doors open at 4:30 PM and music begins at 5:00 PM. Running a bit late? No worries! Jazz 88.3 KCCK live broadcasts the first hour of every concert.
