Music Director Timothy Hankewich has been hard at work in curating fun, unique and inspiring concerts for Eastern Iowa audiences, and we think he hit the ball out of the park! The 2016-17 Orchestra Iowa season includes extraordinary guest soloists like pianist Andreas Klein and saxophone superstar Branford Marsalis, as well as musicians from within Orchestra Iowa like concertmaster Dawn Gingrich and principal horn Andy Harris. A mix of masterwork war horses like Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherezade and Bach’s B Minor Mass and hidden gems including Duke Ellington’s Three Black Kings and Alan Hovhaness’s Mysterious Mountain ensure that the Masterworks season will entice listeners of all persuasions.
