Spencer Howard

Section Violin

Spencer Howard hails from Waterloo, Iowa. He studied violin with Frederick Halgedahl at the University of Northern Iowa and Leopold LaFosse at the University of Iowa, where he earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in violin performance and pedagogy in 2001. Howard maintains an active chamber music and orchestral performance schedule in eastern Iowa. In addition to Orchestra Iowa, he has performed with the the Quad Cities Symphony, the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony, the Dubuque Symphony, the Ottumwa Symphony, the Beloit Symphony, the Iowa Arts Festival Orchestra, and has appeared as a soloist with the LaFosse Baroque Ensemble and the Hot Springs Music Festival in Hot Springs, Arkansas. His recent chamber music performances include appearances with the Stelzner Quartet and the Corridor String Quartet.
